 As if the crisis itself was not enough, we also went through a hard time in terms of climate in 2008. This vintage was not easy to harvest nor to vinify. So I decided to ask Julien Desplans, "winemaker" at Verget to help me with this hard going task. And so that he takes his part in the difficult writing of this annual letter, I let him speak.   "Be sure that grapes rarely grow nicely in the rain or cold! Unfortunately, in Burgundy, the summer of 2008 was even more freezing-cold than 2007. Fortunately, the sun was there in September. So many winemakers took the opportunity to harvest under the sun.
